πŸ“° November Newsletter πŸ—žοΈ

Hello Reader,

November seemed to fly by, that's ok, it just means we are one month closer to the 2025 race season! If you haven't thought about it yet, now's the time. ⏳

This is the second month on the new platform and I may still have a few kinks in the formatting, bare with me as I work them out. πŸ€“

Have a spring race? Training should begin soon and it's never a bad idea to work on limiters and core strength in the off season. The training plan can be flexible and light allowing for a variety of cross training while maintaining some fitness without high volume and a rigid schedule. Let's have a chat about how your 2025 will look.

COMMUNITY UPDATE

In October I sent out a poll of community events you might like to see and We have a pretty good list back of what you want over the winter months from the Team Redde Endurance Community, that you! If you missed the poll you can find it here: https://redde-endurance-coaching.kit.com/22acb7691d

If anyone is interested, we will placing an order for more team kit so keep an eye out for more details. These come in a variety of styles; short sleeve, long sleeve, tank, racerback tank, marathoner, etc.. We are thinking we may add some kind of running jacket or warmup style.

Save the date: February 8th Team Redde Endurance Coaching Community will host a virtual 10k run. Details and signup to follow, for those running Sinister 7 you might notice this is about 22 weeks out from that fun little run!

?? Sin7 Relay Team ?? We are thinking about entering a relay team for Sin7 (7 runners), anyone interested or know of someone who might be? Shoot me a message or feel free to forward my info!

UPCOMING RACES & EVENTS

The family here at Redde Endurance Coaching will be participating in the Advent Run Streak from December 1st through 24th. It's another way support a local promoter (Sinister Sports) and give us a bit of accountability AND who doesn't need an ugly run shirt?! It's not too late to join the fun side of the event.

NUTRITION & HYDRATION TIPS

Yep, you guessed it! I'm going to remind you to stay sufficiently hydrated, even in the colder winter months. It's easier than you think with all the layers of staying warm to under hydrate your runs.

As we enter into the holiday season, a heightened time for visiting, get-togethers, and holiday parties, we will be faced SOOO many tasty treats and cocktails and that's OK! I don't believe you have to absolutely abstain from indulging during these visits, just make smart healthy choices. Think about having one chocolate and not one dozen, a glass of wine or a beer while visiting is ok too, just make the smart choices and stress less about it and enjoy the real reasons you ae visiting with family and friends this holiday season.

TRAINING & FITNESS TIPS

If you liked the advice about hydration and nutrition, I think you like what I have to say here... maybe lol. With all the visiting, family time, and work functions this month we all can agree that the limited time we had before will be even more so this month. As a coach I get it and also living it so here is some advice I give to all my athletes and maybe this will be your reminder, SOMETHING IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN NOTHING! For example, you have a 90 minute long run on Saturday but between family commitments during the day and a work function in the evening you only have 60 minutes for the session so you skip it. It's not an all or nothing situation, if you have 60 minutes, go run 60 minutes. Something is better than nothing and you are still getting good benefits from the run. Stay healthy and stay moving this holiday season, your mind and body will thank you!
