Elizabeth has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from UCSB, an MS in Applied Exercise Science and an MA Education in Health Sciences. In addition, she is a certified sports nutritionist from the ISSN (International Society of Sports Nutrition). Elizabeth has a long and successful career as an athlete and coach that began in the backyard pool, a three-lane, 25-yard lap pool. An NCAA Division 1 distance swimmer and water polo player, she transitioned into triathlon after college and is a multiple podium finisher at the Olympic and 70.3 race distance and a USAT National Qualifier at the Olympic distance.

Coach JW is an Ultra Trail & Endurance Coach. While helping 1st Responders balance shiftwork and training, he is also an 80/20 Endurance coach with 20+yr as an EM Spec. while training for ultra trail. JW enjoys working with youth to support physical literacy and one way of doing this is being a volunteer U9 & U7 soccer coach.


JW’s passion for endurance sports began in his youth, progressing from competitive downhill skiing and Junior A hockey to ultra trail running. He was hooked on ultra trail running after completing the 16.1km "Goat" leg at the 2015 Black Spur Ultra. Now, he and his wife race shorter ultras around the 54km distance, with endurance sports forming the foundation of their active family lifestyle.
